In order to run a newer stereo head unit (330G+), i apparently need to either buy and wire in a Chinese emulator module ($30 + time to find and splice into five or six wires), or I can put a newer CAN Bus gateway in ($40 on ebay + some number of hours playing with VCDS).
I have VCDS and will hopefully check what CAN Bus gateway I have tonight (I have an 06, mexico built jetta). Wasn't sure where to post this, but as it's pretty much about the VW software/CAN Bus, I thought this might be best.
